Hi, I’m Evan.

I write music and design audio systems that reactively shape the experiences provided by games and film. Your media is artful, unique, and engaging, so why should the sound be any different?

In my music, though I’m partial to orchestral writing, my genre focus spans from chiptunes to J-rock, so whatever your story, I’m ready to tell it.

Testimonials

“Evan was an absolute joy to collaborate with. I found his fluency in the language of music to be invaluable in crafting the score to Nothing in Particular. He was always excited to experiment and try new things, and was eager to actively bounce off ideas and develop the score alongside me. Most importantly, Evan was endlessly reliable, and enormously dedicated to seeing my project through until it is was as effective as it possibly could be.

-Julien Devlin, director of Nothing In Particular

“Working with Evan was a great experience. He’s a great collaborator, very professional and always pushing to bring your vision to life. But above all, the best part about working with Evan is that he’ll go the extra mile and won’t settle with middle of the road results.

-Pablo Garza, director of “Hugo”

“Evan is a unique and committed collaborator who understands that music and story go hand in hand. I was incredibly impressed at the amount of detail and dedication put into his score for Fun Center. The final product that he delivered went above and beyond what I had expected in every aspect.”

-Miko Reyes, director of Fun Center

Who I Am

Raised in Southern California and based in New York, I am a man of many obsessions. I grew up playing video games with my two older brothers, and despite the many Mario Party-related injuries that resulted, I still credit this with some of my fondest memories, including my introduction to the magical musical worlds of Koji Kondo, Grant Kirkhope, and the like.

One inspiration led to another; first there were various stints on piano, drums, and guitar, followed by four years playing brass in marching and jazz bands with like-minded nerds, and then another four years studying film scoring and game design at NYU. Now nearing the end of my master’s in Music Technology from the same school, I have been further reconciling my passions with innovative and world-class production techniques, as well as the joys of deep audio implementation systems in games.

More than simply accruing more knowledge and student debt, I’ve been leading a busy post-undergrad life of scoring indie films, working on my own games, and playing trombone at the occasional bar show for free drinks.
